Cameron Wilkosz appointed the New Head Coach of Altona Gators Big V Division Two Women!

Altona Gators are excited to announce Big V Women’s team is back on the court this 2021 Season!

An extensive search and a short list of candidates produced Cameron Wilkosz as the next Head Coach for the reappearance of Altona’s Senior Womens Team.

Cameron’s basketball journey is a well traveled one with a role as lead Assistant Coach for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta Canada, Head Coach of the Bendigo Braves Victorian Youth Championship Women (2019 Big V VYCW Coach of the Year) and WNBL Bendigo Spirit Academy Head Coach.

Gators supporters can look forward to an exciting style of basketball that includes selfless play on Offence and pressure Defence. The new team will allow for a lot of familiar faces to return home to “The Swamp” to further their playing careers as Gators.

Director of Coaching Randy Shanklin says, “I am excited to have Cam as a part of our Girls/Women’s program. His attention to detail and work ethic as a Coach is second to none. I’m equally excited to provide an opportunity for so many of our former Gators to return home to bolster our development program.”

Wilkosz will get to work right away as trials for the Division Two Women’s team begin next Tuesday 19th Jan & Thursday 21st Jan from 8:00pm-9:30pm at “The Swamp”.
